Sacré Cœur Foundation
2024 Sacré Cœur Annual Appeal
Educational pathways to infinite possibilities
In 2024, we aim to enable students from all backgrounds to achieve their educational goals, opening doors to infinite possibilities within and beyond the gates of Burke Road. We invite you to contribute towards any one of our Scholarship, Bursary or School Funds to help foster the growth of the spirit in which the School was founded.
Sacré Cœur Foundation General Scholarship Fund
The impact of scholarships cannot be understated – scholarships benefit our entire School community, adding to the richness and diversity of the experience for all.
By contributing to this fund, we as a community can support the ongoing mission “to give personal worth to each child through education”.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Donate now via Shout for Good.
Kathleen McCarthy Janet Stuart Bursary Fund
In June 2019, the Kathleen McCarthy Bursary Fund was established. Kathleen was a leading educator, Deputy Principal, parent and School Board Director.
The Bursary is to be granted to a student entering Year 7 and funds 75% of tuition fees to her family who may not otherwise be able to afford a Sacré Cœur education. It is available for students currently enrolled and those who wish to attend the School.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Donate now via Shout for Good.
Sacré Cœur Foundation Building Fund
The Sacré Cœur Foundation Building Fund was established in 2004, with the goal of preserving the historic richness of our buildings and school grounds and as a way to invest in future learning facilities for our students.
Contributing towards the Foundation Building Fund, assists us in the maintenance of our heritage buildings built in the late 1800’s, further supports the finance of new buildings and infrastructure, such as our state of the art ‘Sophie Centre’ and most importantly provides new teaching facilities that foster both learning and growth in our students.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Donate now via Shout for Good.
Bequests
At Sacré Cœur, bequests are vital in ensuring we can carry out the School’s Strategic Directions Plan. Designed to build on and strengthen the foundations of the School, bequests provide the ability to educate generations of young women within an innovative and agile environment.
The Sacré Cœur Foundation is committed to developing strategies to ensure financial independence and ongoing viability of the School. Subject to the wishes of the donor or benefactor, gifts to Sacré Cœur will be invested to preserve and build their value.
You may choose to make a gift or to leave a bequest with or without a designated purpose. If you are interested in leaving a bequest in support of the School, please contact foundation@sac.vic.edu.au
The Brynmawr Society
The Brynmawr Society has been established to honour members of our community who have made significant donations in excess of $5000 to Sacré Cœur across their lifetime or who have made provision for the School in their will.
Brynmawr Society Members are recognised for their significant contribution to the School, and are integral members of the community; they are invited to attend exclusive events and ceremonies.

Sacré Cœur Foundation Annual Report on Philanthropy 2020
The Sacré Cœur Foundation 2020 Annual Report on Philanthropy demonstrates the work of the Sacré Cœur Foundation with the School, highlights the impact of donations in supporting building projects and providing scholarships and bursaries, and recognises the importance of philanthropy within our community, in the spirit of Cor Unum. Thank you to all our supporters and financial contributors in 2020.
About the Foundation
Our Sacré Cœur community has long been responsible for ensuring that the excellence and unique experience of a Sacred Heart education is available for our students today, as well as for future generations of young women.
School fees and government grants do not cover the full cost of the education of our students nor the on-going maintenance and development of educational facilities. The need for additional financial support is vital to the future of our School and the Foundation plays a vital role in making this possible.
Established in 2004, the Sacré Cœur Foundation is a public company limited by guarantee and is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the School Board.
While its prime role is fundraising, the Foundation also aspires to be a compassionate and caring organisation. It has a strong belief in the benefits of a Sacred Heart education, both for society and the individual. Through its charter, the Foundation has accepted the responsibility for providing the School with additional capital resources to deliver on its promises to the Sacré Cœur students, parents and their families. We want our students to have the very best opportunities. One avenue for such support is through the award of Florence Buckley Scholarships. The funds from a bequest from Florence Buckley are administered by the Foundation Board.
Fundraising has been and always will be an important part of securing the short-term and long-term goals for our School. Through the Foundation, we aim to nurture a strong belief in philanthropy within our community. By joining with us, you are sharing in our vision and building for the future.
Already, hundreds of our alumnae, current and past parents, staff and supporters have given very generously to the Foundation. For this we say – thank you.
We strongly encourage every member of our community to consider supporting the Foundation through donations to the Building, Bursary and Scholarship Funds or the purchase of a paver for the Cor Unum walk. By lending your support and being involved with the Foundation, you can help our School continue the fine tradition of Sacred Heart education, established internationally for more than two hundred years.
